Plans are in place to promote Hua Hin as a mecca for water sports enthusiasts to experience everything the Gulf of Thailand has to offer. The Prachuap Khiri Khan governor, Dr. Panlop Singhaseni, has suggested that this could certainly be achieved with the cooperation of both private and public sectors combining forces to organize more activities and increase tourism in the area.

Dr. Singhaseni, the previous vice governor of Phuket, says that he sees plenty of opportunities to promote water sports in order to enhance tourism and create excitement. Sports such as sailing and regattas, as well as kiteboarding, are just some of the water-based activities that the town is eager to promote, while fishing competitions are also being considered. March brings about the Thailand Championships 2019 for Kiteboarding and Windsurfing, attracting many extreme sportsmen from around the country. The Championships will be held in Khao Tao and will boast an array of recreation, food vendors, and live music.

The resort of town of Hua Hin has grown vastly in recent years and continues to do so as the Thailand Riveria project is underway. The white sandy beach offers a selection of water sports from parasailing and windsurfing to kiteboarding and stand-up paddleboarding. Yoga on the beach has also become popular as well as the InterContinental’s Friday night barbecues on the beachfront.
